Halfway through writing "So Far So Good" we hit a creative roadblock. Ian lost his confidence in the song and we nearly abandoned it. Fortunately Chad Kroeger lives not too far from my Vancouver studio. Chad came by, had a listen, and immediately voiced his support for the song's strengths. He restored Ian's confidence and encouraged us to complete the song, which we did, with some helpful input from Chad himself. With additional contributions from writer/producer Gavin Brown -- and a superb vocal performance from Ian -- the song made it across the finish line. "So Far So Good" was released in April 2004, the first single from Ian Thornley's debut solo album, Come Again. |
