"You And I" was written for the scene where Edward and Vivian go to the Opera, and then back to Edward's hotel afterwards. Director Jerry Mitchell asked us to write a love song, but without using the word "love" ... although we may have cheated and used the word "love" at least once in the lyric!?!

I wrote the song with Bryan, but I'm also a huge fan! I think he performs beautifully on this recording. Every vocal phrase, every drum fill, just as it should be.
