Comments:
We wrote "Lonely Nights" for Pat Benatar, but if she ever heard it, I don't know. This was the first song we recorded for Bryan's "You Want It, You Got It" album.  In the summer of 1980, prior to Bob Clearmountain's involvement, Bryan booked a day at Little Mountain Sound in Vancouver.  With myself on bass and drums, Bryan on guitar, and Bob Rock engineering, we made an unsuccessful attempt at recording a "basic track".

Will you risk your reputation? - I don't know
You just don't know what you're saying any more

You know beggars can't be choosers - and it's fair
We may win, we may be losers
I don't care, no, no, no

Oh baby, I just can't stand another lonely night
So come over and save me
Save me from another lonely night

I hear every word you're saying - they're all lies
But with every breath you're taking
You're thinking of ways to say goodnight

Oh baby, I just can't stand another lonely night
So come over and save me
Save me from another lonely night
