Harry must have been fond of his previous home, Laudervale (see photo below) as several of Laudervale's architectural elements are present in the design of Lauder Ha'.

At the funeral service the Lesson was read by the Duke of Hamilton, and all shopsand businesses in Hamilton closed for the day.

The funeralwascovered by Pathe News, and wreaths were received from all over the world, includingone from Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother) and another from Winston Churchill.
