Born in London in 1951, Peter Collins was an accomplished musician by his teens, securing a recording contract with Decca Records where he released one album.

Early in his career Collins gained additional experience via a number of music industry jobs, which included working at a recording studio and a publishing company.  Later he started his own jingle company.

Collins became a staff producer for Magnet Records before permanently relocating to the USA in 1985.
